There is no right or wrong in a relationship. Only that we are carrying different values and rules of the game. Problems occur only when one didn't explain the rules well at the very beginning and one assume knowing the rules.
In a relationship, we might be lucky enough to find someone knows how to play our game but rules must always lay out clearly from the very beginning. The best part in a relationship is that, rules can be change at anytime according to circumstances.
So that's how the phrase "Love is a gamble..." derived. You think you know the rules and playing the game well? Banker or player is too early to tell as long as you are still in the game.
But i guess it's not a Multiplayer game ^^ u remind me of my post http://winterzzz.blogspot.com/2010/05/love.html =P
